Finally, someone is talking some sense on city dwelling 4WD's. Other than myself of course...

Labor MP Daryl Melham has called on 4WD owners to give up on their guzzlers, which never leave the city.

In one of the great quotes of the year, Melham "saw a whole range of people leaving a show, the Wiggles, picking up their kids and going home, and they were all in 4WDs and petrol guzzlers." Classic.

Now i like the wiggles. Sort of. But the thought of these mothers driving to the wiggles, then to the coffee shop with their friends, perhaps to stop by at the shops to buy some other useless consumable, makes me very angry. And grumpy. No surprise there.

So it is nice to see petrol prices rising. If they suffer some financial pain for the ridiculous decision of buying a 4WD that never goes off road, I'm not upset at all.

As petrol prices keep going up, id like to quote another famous Daryl, and to 4WD owners say this..."suffer in your jocks."

LOL! You actually think that just because petrol has gone up a bit we honestly feel any pain at the bowser? LOL! I love my 4WD. My wife says that she loves the feeling that she can "just run right over that little car ahead". LOL! 10mpg, who cares? Petrol is cheaper than milk, and its a non-renewable resource! LOL!

This world is just not right, is it?

About Just Grumpy

Im not a right wing nut job, far from it. I just believe that the world doesnt owe you a living, you make your own luck (was that Kevin Rudd?) and if you work hard you can succeed.

Thats not to say that we shouldnt help those who cant help themselves. I have a firm belief in giving a helping hand up to those who genuinely need it. (please give generously to my linked charities)

I call myself a realist and i want to tell it like it is. Somebody has to speak the truth. Because seriously, what a selfish bunch of insular tools we have become in today's dreamy Australia.

Maybe we arent so different to the rest of the world. And maybe it was always this way.

Anyway, until things change, i remain young and grumpy.
