Ratings Win for Chaser - Take That Tabloid Press

Big Minds - Small Talk Video - Putting Idle Polite Chit Chat Front and Centre

Latest reports indicate that The Chaser hasn't suffered any ratings drop after their controversial Make a Realistic Wish skit. Over 1.1 million people tuned in after their first show back from a 2 week suspension. Its a fantastic result for them, particularly given that they were up against the NRL State of Origin decider.

It shows that many Australians just don't buy into the tabloid filth that ran hard against these guys a couple of weeks back. Yes, some people still do have a sense of humor in Australia - and that gives me a warm feeling inside, if only for a moment.

I'm staggered that these guys could get Tim Flannery, Bill Henson, Ray Martin and the evil Philip Ruddock in the same room for a comedy skit. But it seems they did. And its perfect. I hate small talk, but id watch this show. Classic.

Im not a right wing nut job, far from it. I just believe that the world doesnt owe you a living, you make your own luck (was that Kevin Rudd?) and if you work hard you can succeed.

Thats not to say that we shouldnt help those who cant help themselves. I have a firm belief in giving a helping hand up to those who genuinely need it. (please give generously to my linked charities)

I call myself a realist and i want to tell it like it is. Somebody has to speak the truth. Because seriously, what a selfish bunch of insular tools we have become in today's dreamy Australia.

Maybe we arent so different to the rest of the world. And maybe it was always this way.

Anyway, until things change, i remain young and grumpy.
