The Punch reports that Ex Turnbull and Costello Staffer Paul Lindwall to be questioned over Fake Treasury Email
Its yet another blow by The Punch. Where is their Fairfax online opinion counterpart? Still a couple of months away from launch. They are sometimes slow creatures over at Fairfax.
The Punch reports that a former staffer to Malcolm Turnbull, Paul Lindwall is to be investigated by the AFP over links to the fraudulent email at the centre of the Utegate or Ozcar affair. The email purported to be from Rudd staffer Andrew Charlton to Treasury Official Godwin Grech.
Lindwall was apparently a member of Peter Costello's staff when he was Treasurer. He then moved to Malcolm Turnbull's office but apparently departed just weeks ago. The circumstances of his departure have yet to be disclosed.
The Punch is not yet suggesting that Lindwall had anything to do with the creation of the false email, but that he is a person of interest to the police.
It has been reported that Paul Lindwall is a former official at the Treasury Department and may have links to Godwin Grech. Grech has reportedly already been questioned by police and his home searched after a raid.
