Moderation Goes Missing on Herald Sun Website Comments

So a woman grabs a taxi after a few drinks in Richmond, and for her trouble is sexually assaulted by the driver. The Herald Sun report the story as is their business. Fair enough.

But the online site is opened up for comments. Umm, why exactly? What do we really need to comment on?

Anyway, the staff at Herald Sun are apparently all on the turps this afternoon cos they are letting any comments through.

But PK wasn't happy with his first comment, so he followed it up a minute later with another.

I wonder if PK would be happy if i was to knock on his door and kneecap him with a shotgun? Would he deserve that?

In the meantime, its a free for all on the Herald Sun comments section. So leave a few little choice remarks calling Rupert Murdoch a senile old man. I wonder if that would get through?

Im not a right wing nut job, far from it. I just believe that the world doesnt owe you a living, you make your own luck (was that Kevin Rudd?) and if you work hard you can succeed.

Thats not to say that we shouldnt help those who cant help themselves. I have a firm belief in giving a helping hand up to those who genuinely need it. (please give generously to my linked charities)

I call myself a realist and i want to tell it like it is. Somebody has to speak the truth. Because seriously, what a selfish bunch of insular tools we have become in today's dreamy Australia.

Maybe we arent so different to the rest of the world. And maybe it was always this way.

Anyway, until things change, i remain young and grumpy.
