Outrage - Chocolate Cake Recipe Disaster from My Kitchen Rules
I think at last count, there were something like a quarter of a million people killed in the Haiti earthquake disaster. That's about two and a half times a full crowd at the MCG. Yes, all dead. Tens of thousands more injured.
But that's not a real disaster. Not when you compare it to the My Kitchen Rules Chocolate Mousse Cake recipe which was posted to their website with the wrong instructions. The effect of the mistake was that the chocolate cake turned into sludge. Some people are demanding their money back for the cost of the ingredients after the disaster.
Believe it or not, some people spent up to $40 just to get the ingredients to make the cake. Yes, $40. You could get yourself about 8 chocolate cakes from Coles or Woolworths for that money. Or one really nice one from Laurent.
Then again, you could also spend some time outdoors in the nice summer and stop being such a "foodie" tool. From where did these "foodies" emerge and how did they become sooooo cool? I'll be honest, if someone describes themselves to me as a foodie, I'll likely ask them if they have tried a knuckle sandwich. But a slap in the face is probably not enough for these tossers.
According to the Herald Sun, some of the comments were:
"What a waste of money... cost me almost $40 for the ingredients and the cake tastes absolutely disgusting!! are you guys sure you got the recipe correct?? not happy."
"I am in my pantry crying... I had a dinner party here tonight and everyone has been commenting on the slop I have served!"
"CRAP PRODUCTION GUYS!!!!! This is CLEARLY NOT the recipe for the dish served last night. What is the point of a website publishing incorrect recipes"
I'm trying to work out if the Herald Sun are just taking the piss or if this is real outrage.

a waste of 10 eggs!!! poor chickens
I passed the recipe on to a work friend and she was going to bring it in for a treat for us hard workers and she had the same problem....sludge. I was very disappointed as I had been raving about the cake I'd seen on tv. Luckily her own chickens had provided the eggs but what a waste of ingredients!!
