Apparently those Don't Be a Dickhead road safety videos are causing a great deal of outrage in the Victorian community. At least that's what the media would like us to believe. Maybe it's true.
If using the word dickhead causes such outrage, then Ive changed my mind. I'm now a big fan of the ads. More of them i say. Because the real dickheads are those people complaining about nothing as per usual. Whipped up into a frenzy over the latest piece of nothingness.
I did discover that the ads were created by Hungry Beast's Dan Illic. Now there is a highly underrated show that hasn't seemed to attract too much outrage. Surprising. It does really push the boundaries at times, often more than the Chaser used to do. Anyways, that's another story.
So there have been a string of complaints apparently to the Human Rights Commission over the portrayal of redheads in the ads. Yes, seriously folks. We don't give much of a toss about the mortality rate of Aboriginals in Australia, but we care about how redheads are shown on screen. Now those are some seriously screwed up priorities.
But it gets worse. There are a whole bunch of nutjobs who have also complained to the Advertising Standards Bureau. You may remember the ASB. They are the sheltered workshop who think that the late night "call me, call me now" ads are perfectly OK to be shown on TV screens, but a harmless Nando's ad isn't acceptable. Go figure folks. Chief workshop worker Fiona Jolly has apparently sent a please explain to Vic Roads. Expect a ruling soon.

This isn't standing up for just redheads it's standing up against discrimination against minorities in general - no discrimination should be tolerated. The fact it is propagated by a Government agency is staggering - this campaign will get what it rightly deserves.
This lame opinion piece is as stupid and obnoxious as the ads. Well, not quite... the ads are totally fucked, this is some shit on the periphery. Stop wankers writing wanky ads and other wankers calling people who disagree 'nutjobs'. Shit is shit grumpy - redhead jokes by some advertising comedy cocksucker are not welcome in this world. I'd rather have the gingers than the wankers getting fresh with other wankers.
these ads will do nothing to help the road toll, not only are they not relevant they don't even make sense. the only thing these will accomplish is to give people another thing to bully people with red hair about. and the aboriginals do nothing to help themselves so don't even bring them up, they're about as relevant as the ads
