Its only been going for the best part of forever..but the winner of Masterchef Series 2 is Adam Liaw. Wow. And we thought it would never end. What a journey it has been. In saying all that, i cant say that i watched a whole lot of it, good production value aside. There are only so many commercials i can sit through.

So while we are all in the middle of a federal election campaign, the media on Monday are unlikely to be too concerned with who won the debate between Julia Gillard and Tony Abbott. Instead we will have predictions of what is next for our Masterchef winner and the runner up, Callum Hann.

Can our TV screens cope with yet another semi celebrity chef cooking show? And will the stores bookshelves cope with the extra weight of yet more pointless cook books? I for one am staggered that with all the recipes available for free on the Internet, people still dish out their hard earned money for a book. Which of course usually sits very clean on your cupboard shelf.

Anyway, well done to Adam Liaw. And may his reign be just as successful as Julie Goodwin's after her win in series 1. Which has produced a book and something from Woman's Weekly..at least, thats what i can remember.

Now we can get back to a federal election. Or some other source of amusements for our minds. Perhaps its time to tune into A Current Affair.

About Just Grumpy

Im not a right wing nut job, far from it. I just believe that the world doesnt owe you a living, you make your own luck (was that Kevin Rudd?) and if you work hard you can succeed.

Thats not to say that we shouldnt help those who cant help themselves. I have a firm belief in giving a helping hand up to those who genuinely need it. (please give generously to my linked charities)

I call myself a realist and i want to tell it like it is. Somebody has to speak the truth. Because seriously, what a selfish bunch of insular tools we have become in today's dreamy Australia.

Maybe we arent so different to the rest of the world. And maybe it was always this way.

Anyway, until things change, i remain young and grumpy.
