Its yet another reason to hate the Geelong Football Club. In their wisdom, the club's leadership team decided to send a copy of a joint announcement with the Liberal Party to their supporters and members. The brains behind this idea seems to be none other than "Colourful Identity" and Club President Frank Costa. How nice of them to become involved in a Federal Election campaign.
Not surprisingly, a whole bunch of labor voters who are also Geelong members are just a little upset. The only good thing about such a ridiculously stupid move by the Cats is that the Labor Party have long memories. Such a foray into a campaign wont be forgotten in a hurry.
On another point, it seems that The Age poll on the topic wasn't so popular. Maybe no Cats fans actually read the paper. Perhaps other readers don't actually care about the Cats. Or maybe, just maybe, its yet another stuff up from the online edition of this increasingly tabloid publication. Genuis really. Close a poll a day before publishing the story. At least the disclaimer is correct "these polls are not scientific..."

I see the seat of corangamite is close again. If the ALP lose the seat in part because of this stitch up by Costa then there will be hell to pay.
