An $850,000 payout and not a red cent to charity. That's because she obviously needs it. Living on the north shore of Sydney cant be cheap.

And anyway, being hugged and touched in a slightly inappropriate way is worth all that money.

So my advice? Don't give the money to charity Kristy. You need it more.

Don't worry about all those other people who truly suffer real discrimination in the workplace.

Don't worry about all the starving millions in sub Saharan Africa.

Don't stress about the millions of displaced people after the floods in Pakistan.

Don't give a thought to the underprivileged in our own backyard (granted, not your backyard), like much of the indigenous population.

Don't give a toss for the homeless people you step over when you venture over the bridge to go shopping.

Don't concern yourself with the billion people in the world who live on about a dollar a day. You can choose to ignore them as you fly 35,000 feet above their heads while on the way to Paris or the Hamptons.

So you enjoy all that money Kristy. God knows you deserve it. Don't give anything to charity. Dont give a red cent. Any starving child in Africa could see that you need it more.

I honestly don't think that this should be allowed to happen. If someone says "Won't keep it - will give it to charity" then make it legally binding in the payout. This makes me sick.

I am sick of people attacking Kristy. She was brave and spoke out when many women before her had been cowards and stayed silent. I myself am involved in a very similar situation, and the toll it has taken on me is unmeasurable. This man's actions were kept silent and the victim count has increased. I am a mess because of what this man did to me, but I chose to speak out to protect other women. In fact, if it weren't for Ms Frazer-Kirk speaking out, I may not have had the courage to speak out. She DOES deserve every red cent. Hell, that scum McInnes got a massive payout from DJ's and he admitted he did the wrong thing. Why are people attacking her, but not ripping him apart?!

Since when does sexual harassment not count as 'real' workplace discrimination?

Assuming you're implying that your boss is like McInnes, are you saying you're a total mess just because he TRIED to kiss you? I understand if its actually 'abuse' and 'harassment', but heck, there's always someone trying to make a move on someone - that's all McInnes was doing, and Fraser-Kirk has made one big deal out of a simple flirtation.

I mean, I respect that people who are actually sexually harassed/abused should receive compensation, but from what I've read about the issue with Fraser-Kirk/McInnes, she's just an attention-seeker.

Also, McInnes only admitted to a small part. He actually denied most of the allegations.

I think you missed the point. The point is that there are people out there who are actually abused and harassed, who suffer from discrimination, and from reading all the articles, I now doubt that it was much at all. I mean - why didn't she go for the court case? Settling for $850,000 instead of $37 million? Really? And wasn't she feeling so strongly about 'change' and 'support'?

To the anonymous person who posted @ 1.21pm, I'm sure your situation is serious and you should take every step possible to speak out. What many people mean to say about Fraser Kirk is that she may have not be truthful in regards to what had happened or that her demand of 37 million dollars was far too much and hence ridiculed her attempt to 'speak out'.

It was very possible that what she said was true but she did not handle it well and her decision to not help women in the same situation makes you wonder whether or not she actually went through something like this. I was sexually abused and if I had received any money, whether it was $10 000 or like her $850 000, I would've given some to charity because I know the pain.

You don't know what McInnes did, nor do you know what Fraser Kirk did. No one does but them. Maybe he was all wrong, maybe she flirted with him and he made the mistake of answering to her flirts and that got him in trouble.

The fact remains that Fraser should've handle this story better than she did because it hurt her career, her reputation, McInnes' reputation and career as well, and did not necessarily help the sexual harassment issue either at this whole story ridiculed it.

This woman makes me so angry. Why does she need $850000 because a guy flirted with her?

I am currently suffering from depression anxiety caused by Sexual Harrassment by my District Manager. After so many ways to follow our company's proceedure in regards to sexual harrassment cases which should be conducted discreetly and fair investigation, and after so many times other managers are witnessed of such; nothing happened to me to bring justice. But instead this Company of Burger decided that im just another employee and that District Manager will have to be protected because he is close to the National Manager and the Big Four, instead of myself and some other under aged crews.
I have spent my Christmas and New Year with my husband with not enough meal on our table and nothing to pay for our mortgage and bills because the company I worked for refused to pay my accrued leave.
I have been raped I was only 18 yrs of age a virgin resulted of me having a 21yrs old daughter who I was forced to give for adoption as I was dis-owned by my own family out of disgrace.
I left Sydney for more than 10yrs to find peace and myself all over again.
Upto this date, I regret the fact coming back here 3yrs ago to start all over with my husband and to mend all the pain between myself and my daughter from rape experience.
I just wished people just dont assumed that this experiences can be ignored or rated as plain flirting, different people have different ways of dealing with such experiences.
To think that my assailant is still at work and enjoying all benefits whilst I am on medical leave with no pay.
Sometimes I am wishing that I was naturally born AUSTRALIAN instead of migrant, then I would be treated fairly and protected more so.
Yes, Im proud of Kristy for speaking out and fighting...

She makes me physically sick. As usual, a pretty person gets a windfall from society. Why can't she get a terminal disease - we could all do with a laugh.

About Just Grumpy

Im not a right wing nut job, far from it. I just believe that the world doesnt owe you a living, you make your own luck (was that Kevin Rudd?) and if you work hard you can succeed.

Thats not to say that we shouldnt help those who cant help themselves. I have a firm belief in giving a helping hand up to those who genuinely need it. (please give generously to my linked charities)

I call myself a realist and i want to tell it like it is. Somebody has to speak the truth. Because seriously, what a selfish bunch of insular tools we have become in today's dreamy Australia.

Maybe we arent so different to the rest of the world. And maybe it was always this way.

Anyway, until things change, i remain young and grumpy.
