It has become apparent that the key litigant in the David Jones harassment case is allegedly paranoid and scared because of all the attention she is getting. We know this cos her psychologist says so. Ain't the world an unfair place when you make a serious allegation then have to face some questions over it?
I mean seriously, what normal person shouldn't get $37 million for having someone touch their bra strap? And then have their identity protected from the glare of the media? As if $37 million was a lot of money! Most people in sub Saharan Africa struggle to make ends meet on much more than that every day.
According to Ms Hyphen-Hyphen's psychologist, the seriousness of the harassment claim has been "trivialised" by the media. Yes, cos launching a bid for $37 million in compensation wasn't trivial. Please kids, don't complain when your own "publicity" and manipulation strategy comes back to bite you.
From the SMH:
Kristy Fraser-Kirk, who is suing David Jones and its former chief executive, Mark McInnes, for $37 million over alleged sexual harassment, has been so traumatised by the case that she spends most of her time inside her apartment with the blinds drawn so she cannot be photographed, a psychologist says.
In an affidavit released by the Federal Court today, clinical psychologist Louise Morrow, who has been treating the 27-year-old publicist, said Ms Fraser-Kirk has been left feeling paranoid and cannot stay in her apartment alone. She has to have friends stay with her if her partner is away.
The media attention has also had physical effects, with Ms Fraser-Kirk experiencing vomiting, diarrhoea, loss of appetite, weight loss and sleeping difficulties.
Ms Morrow said Ms Fraser-Kirk knew that she would have to go public when her claim reached court but the fact that her name and details of her case were revealed in the media compromised her reputation and undermined her integrity.
"Ms Fraser-Kirk stated that the unauthorised publication of her name and image violated her right to privacy and exposed her to public ridicule in the media, trivialising the seriousness of her matter," Ms Morrow wrote.
She said Ms Fraser-Kirk only decided to make her public statement to the media to make it clear that she would not be intimated by a major corporation.
We are just so good at everything we do that we even lead the medal tally at the Commonwealth Games a week before events start. Umm, why exactly is the medal tally being displayed online when no medals have been won? And why is Australia already winning? Those are questions for The Age.
So the media are on one of their warpaths again. Yes, Brendan Fevola is alleged to have done something wrong. And hasn't it made Caroline Wilson excited? I'm sure she has lived for the day that she could write about the Fev again. She's been hanging for an indiscretion - it's about all she really cares for. Good ol Barry Hall is a changed man isn't he? Funny how somebody breaking another player's jaw seems to be all forgotten. Instead, lets go after a guy who enjoys a drink a little bit too much.
So the whole morning we had to tune into a trumped up media story about Fevola apparently being charged for an indiscretion at the Brownlow's last year. The charge? Drunk in a public place. Well woopdee do to that.
Was it for real? According to the media, yes, charges were "imminent". Right up until the point that they weren't. It just so happens that Victoria Police confirmed today that charges wouldn't be laid. Why did they confirm it? Because the media were pushing for the charges to be brought before the end to the statutory period where these matters must be dealt with.
Talk about trial by media. It was a non story before the media got involved. If there was a real issue, it would have been dealt with last September. Id be staggered if the crime of "drunk in a public place" was one that the police needed a year to investigate.
Nevertheless, someone at The Age online was a little confused. At 12.45pm - the story "Fev Faces Fevola Charge" runs directly opposite "No Brownlow Charges for Fev".
Ok, so its a little mistake, and we'll grant them some leeway. An up to the minute news service is allowed a few errors of this kind. They would fix it all up by late afternoon...wouldn't they?
Dang. It's 3.28pm and The Fev still faces a Brownlow charge. Or does he? Those group afternoon naps at The Age online are really taking their toll. Surely a couple of Caroline Wilson snarls or the odd thump from Barry Hall would keep them on their toes?
Below are some of the photos of the crisis of the Victorian Floods.

Oh, sorry. I was confusing the Victorian flood "crisis" with a real crisis in Pakistan. So while the Victorian Government dish out payments of $1000 for people who got a little bit wet, and grants of up to $26,000 to help people rebuild or renovate, those truly suffering in Pakistan get limited worldwide attention.
Pakistan is a country that sorely needs significant economic and political support from the west. Supporting Pakistan is not just good strategy, when you see such a crisis, it's the right thing to do.
But lets not fear. While the rest of us take out insurance, its nice to know that our local brethren can have their coffers filled at taxpayer expense. For once - just once - how about we give taxpayer dollars to the people who really deserve it?

.How intelligent do you have to be to recognise the difference between Victoria and New South Wales? Or perhaps a better question, how low does your IQ have to be to secure a job at The Age Online?
Another day and another stupid stuff up at The Age. While reading about a bashing on our train network (no violent crime problem in Melbourne apparently), The Age dish up one of their pointless videos attached to a story.
As an aside guys, if i wanted to watch TV, id tune it to ABC 24. I'm on your website to read the news, I'm not here to listen to a work experience dude tell me about it. I get that you want the advertising, but the moment i see that little video symbol attached to the story, I'll often as not steer clear of it.
Anyways, so the story "Train Glare Ends in Platform Gang Bashing" comes with a video.
Ok. So The Age is a Melbourne website. The story is about a train attack at Malvern. So why oh why do we have a picture attached to the video which is clearly of a scene NOT in Melbourne. How do we know? For one, NSW police uniforms are distinctly different to Victoria Police. But secondly, yellow number plates are not generally used on Victorian cars.
Worse still, have a look at the scene. Quite clearly, this is a photo from a serious crime scene - likely a murder. Police tape is up and numerous officers are on the scene, including one who looks a lot like a forensic investigator.
I get that The Age online want to get stories up quickly. But after being in business for what, 100 or more years, they couldn't find a stock photo of Victoria Police? As the video plays, Snr Constable Adam West (no, not Batman), is speaking about the attack, presumably from an Iphone. Nice graphic by the way, which you obviously had time to create. Just no time to provide an accurate pic. Idiots.
About Just Grumpy
Thats not to say that we shouldnt help those who cant help themselves. I have a firm belief in giving a helping hand up to those who genuinely need it. (please give generously to my linked charities)
I call myself a realist and i want to tell it like it is. Somebody has to speak the truth. Because seriously, what a selfish bunch of insular tools we have become in today's dreamy Australia.
Maybe we arent so different to the rest of the world. And maybe it was always this way.
Anyway, until things change, i remain young and grumpy.
