Sleeping is probably being generous. When Melbourne gets hit with massive flash flooding early on a Friday evening, the Herald Sun online are on the ball, with regular updates, photos, radar and SES contact details.
The Age? Who knows. More concerned with poster boy Julian Assange, their last flash flood warning update came at 2.04pm, well before any rain arrived. Perhaps they were too busy celebrating the new version of the Saturday Age to actually do any work. One hopes the Age drinking hole is under water too.
About Just Grumpy
Im not a right wing nut job, far from it. I just believe that the world doesnt owe you a living, you make your own luck (was that Kevin Rudd?) and if you work hard you can succeed.
Thats not to say that we shouldnt help those who cant help themselves. I have a firm belief in giving a helping hand up to those who genuinely need it. (please give generously to my linked charities)
I call myself a realist and i want to tell it like it is. Somebody has to speak the truth. Because seriously, what a selfish bunch of insular tools we have become in today's dreamy Australia.
Maybe we arent so different to the rest of the world. And maybe it was always this way.
Anyway, until things change, i remain young and grumpy.

Sleeping is probably pretty generous, yeah. Almost as generous as describing what News Ltd online's media outlets produce as "work". I know plenty of people who'd classify it as, oh I dunno, "shit". :)
The real tragedy here is that there aren't too many media outlets operating in Australia... you can either have your left wing bias over at Aunty, or you can have your right wing bias over at Unky Ruperts'. Whatever happened to journalism actually attempting to remain objective?
